FEDERER ADMITS WEAKNESSES

Roger Federer has admitted that his performance hasn’t been up to the mark so far in the ongoing season.

Federer has taken part in three tournaments in this season so far. He began his season by participating in the Australian Open. He managed to reach the final 4 there before being beaten by the British superstar Andy Murray.

Federer then participated in ABN AMRO World Tennis tournament which was played at Rotterdam. He had been given the top seed in that tournament and was expected to go all the way, but, he was defeated in the quarter final round by Julien Benneteau of France.

Federer then took part in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and made his way to the semi final round there. In the semi final, he was defeated by Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic.

When asked if he is satisfied with the way he has performed in this season, Federer said, “Obviously, I should have won a tournament or two, but, it happens. You can’t start every season with a bang.”

“Frankly speaking, I don’t think that I am in bad nick. I am in decent form and I am hitting the ball quite well. It’s just that I have committed mistakes during the important moments of the matches and that’s why, I have been knocked out of the tournaments.”

“I am looking forward to the upcoming BNP Paribas Open. I want to win this tournament, but, it’s not going to be easy; that’s for sure.”

Rafael Nadal will also be playing in the BNP Paribas Open. When asked about that, Federer said, “Rafa’s comeback is great news for the whole tennis world. He is a great entertainer. He has won a couple of tournaments recently. So, he is in good nick and he is certainly a strong contender for the title here.”
