MURRAY LOSES OUT

Andy Murray has been defeated by Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia in his opening match of the Mubadala Tennis Championship which is being played at Abu Dhabi. Tipsarevic won the match in the straight sets by 6-3, 6-4. With the help of this victory, Tipsarevic has made his way into the final 4 where he will take on Nicolas Almagro of Spain.

Murray had come into this match as favourite, but, he was stunned by a superb all round performance by Tipsarevic. The Serbian no. 2 took just 84 minutes to win the match.

MURRAY IN FINAL 4

Andy Murray has secured a place in the final 4 of the ATP World Tour finals by defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in his third Round Robin match at London.

Murray won the match in the straight sets by 6-2, 7-6(3). The British superstar looked in supreme touch throughout the match. It took him just 96 minutes to register the semi final berth. Out of his previous couple of matches, Murray had won one and lost one.

MURRAY MAKES QUARTER FINALS

Andy Murray has entered the quarter finals of the Rakuten Japan Open with a fantastic win over Lukas Lacko of Slovakia. Murray won the match in the straight sets by 6-1, 6-2.

He took a bit less than 1 hour to knock Lacko out of the competition. Murray had won the Japan Open last year as well and the way he has started his campaign this year, it seems that the British superstar is well prepared to defend his title.

Andy Murray has defeated Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland in the men’s tennis singles tournament of London Olympics and moved into the second round. Murray won the match easily in straight sets by 6-3, 6-3. The world no. 1 Roger Federer watched the match from the players’ box. Murray was playing his first match after the Wimbledon final. STOSUR CRASHES OUT

Samantha Stosur has been defeated in the third round of the Rogers Cup by Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic. Safarova won the match in the straight sets by 7-6(9), 7-6(5). It was a very close match and both the players played some brilliant tennis.

Both the sets went into the tie breaker and the spectators enjoyed the match a lot. Safarova, who is ranked 23rd in the official rankings of WTA, didn’t lose her calmness in the tie breakers and pulled off an upset. The match went on for 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Murray Makes the Semis

British tennis sensation, Andy Murray, has defeated David Ferrer and entered into the semifinals of Wimbledon Championship. But, it was not an easy match for the British superstar by any means. He lost the first set and he was on the verge of losing the second set too, but, he lifted the standard of his game and was able to go through Ferrer. Barely five hours had passed since Serena Williams won her fifth singles title at Wimbledon before she was back at centre court of the All England Club with her older sister Venus Williams for the doubles final against the Czech Republic pair of Lucie Hradecka and Andrea Hlavackova and in match that finished just 15 minutes before the clock struck 11pm local time, the Williams sisters were celebrating their 5th double title at Wimbledon.

Murray surrounded by injury rumours

Andy Murray has found himself under the spotlight going into this year’s French Open with many people including tennis legend Boris Becker suggesting Murray would be best off dropping out of the tournament to rest his back ahead of his much anticipated return to Wimbledon.

Murray suffered an ankle injury during a third round match in last years French Open as well as breaking his tooth on a baguette. Despite these set back the Scot made it to the semi-finals before eventually losing out to eventual winner and Spaniard Rafa Nadal.
