"I have been fortunate in my life to have learned from, been associated with, and cultivated friendships with the great players and teachers in the game of tennis. To listen to Jack Kramer talk about how he won Wimbledon, giving clinics with Billie Jean King and to gain insight about what made her one of the toughest competitors on the tour, and to watch Dick Gould coach his players to a National Championship are a few of the thousands of special moments that I am fortunate to possess in my background as a teacher and to pass on to my students." - Lee DeYoung

What makes the DeYoung Tennis Academy unique is that we apply a results-based system that uses scientific guidelines and innovative teaching aids. What the students appreciate is that the science is invisible and the only thing noticeable is that the time spent on court is fun and productive. The students learn technically correct strokes that will hold up for them under pressure, and they learn how to win. Tennis is a simple game governed by the height of the net, length and width of the court, atmospheric conditions, laws of gravity, length and square inches of the racket, weight of the ball, etc. This makes learning strokes relatively simple. The challenge is to read the ball correctly and to then execute the appropriate stroke. Success on the tennis court is a skill that anyone can learn, and that is what we teach.

An important aspect of the DeYoung Tennis Academy is the philanthropic program. Inquire about the language assimilation programs for adopted children (see TenniSpeak) and our outreach programs. We have financial assistance available if needed, and the DeYoung Tennis Academy will never turn away a student (junior or adult) because of a lack of funds.
